"Sweet Daughter" Mini Album

My latest project has been exciting for me because of the fact that I have tried several new products and techniques with this album.  It has both challenged my creativity and sparked new interests for me!!  The following are some old, some new techniques that I used in this album so far. I hope that you find some "inspiration" as well.

Happy Scrappin', Tami.

The whole album is constructed of photo mat-board pieces.
I cut the pieces into 8"x8" for the inside pages;

approximately 8.5"x8.5" for the covers.

This is how I covered the front and back covers.
I cut patterened paper approximately 1/2" larger
on all sides of the 8.5"x8.5" mat-board.

After cutting the pp (patterened paper) to size, I
scored around the board and folded to get a good
crease.  After that, I cut the corners off of
the pp to reduce bulk at the corners.

Next, I spread some Modge-podge on the whole piece of pp,
put the mat-board in the center, and
fold over the extra on the sides.
Rub down really well while glue is setting.

After the sides are good and set, I cut coordinating
pp to 8.25"x8.25" and adhered it to cover the
back of the front cover. This is how it
should look when done. Nice, mitered corners
underneath for that finished/professional look!

 STAY TUNED...
***Will continue with inside pages & embellished cover on tomorrow's post***

"The Christmas Memories Are All Tied Up!"

I just wanted to share with you the COMPLETED "Christmas Memories" mini-album. Here it is, finished binding and all prettied up! Thanks for visiting "Fashioned In Faith".  Have a Blessed weekend!!    ~ Prayers & Blessings, Tami

The binding was done with binder rings, then a combination of different colors of
ribbon and tule were used to dress it up.  This is the first time that I have
used tule, I am officially hooked on the "look".

"It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year!!"

Well, Christmas is upon us and it's THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!  I just LOVE Christmas.  I'm always humbled by the gift that God give us in His Son, Jesus Christ!

I had been itching to get into the Christmas spirit, so I decided what better way to get that fire going than to do a "Christmas Memories" Mini-Album.  I hope you enjoy...

The cover is chipboard covered in cream colored canvas -
from PRIMA. It came in a pack of 3 covers (2 canvas, 2 black canvas, 2 smokey acrylic).
I inked the edges, added a piece of embossed red cardstock, put in a title,
made paper rosettes with a Tim Holtz die, added a stick pin that I received in swap,
heat embossed just about EVERYTHING gold, tied a pretty
bow on the side.. and WA-LA!

This is the first page.  Paper on the left is before, page on the right is after the gold
heat embossing. I used an embossing ink pen and gold embossing powder.
The title is stamped, all else is hand drawn.

This is a tag page... again, gold heat embossed stamping and hand drawing.

Love this page!!  It is my first ever "flip" page.  The candy flap flips up
to reveal another photo mat underneath. Very FUN!

Another tag page. Gold heat embossing around all of the houses is hand-drawn
with the embossing pen, then gold embossing powder added, and heated with the heat gun.
2 tags added in the pocket to maximize photo placement.

Another tag page. This time a side pocket. The pocket was first embossed with a cuttlebug
embossing folder. Then I went over the raised embossed design with the heat
embossing pen and gold embossing powder.

This is another little flip page.  It has 3 photo matts. Love the cookies along the
edge of the paper. I just went around them with my embossing pen, added
gold embossing powder and heated it.

The last photo matt in the back of the flip page.

This is the last page in the mini-album.  It is a tag page with only 1 larger tag.
Presents are stamped and heat embossed with gold. A little touch of gold ribbon
for a pull tab helps bring it all together.
